Two Theologians

Tuesday, July 19, 2005

The evening had gone well. Quite a crowd gathered in the end. Collette, Carrie-Bri, Joe, and Wally were the first to arrive for their tickets. Then came OLeif direct from work. Joseph and Magnus Pie soon followed. And then Elizabeth strolled in, looking quite stunning actually. Her dark hair had a way of sitting just perfectly in a pony tail of many dimensions. Her eyes were amazingly striking as well, which matched perfectly a sweater of a lovely blue green. She was very beautiful.

Then after they moved into the theater, all three Tecumseh kids hurried in, followed soon after by Molly McCrae who walked in with Joe, Wally, and Magnus who were busy purchasing popcorn. Rose joined them after the film.

The film itself was freaky and full of color and strangeness – “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. However, it was a unique sort of film, definitely conducive to the artsy crowd whose attention it held.

Afterward, the clan headed to Steak ‘n Shake to be served by a patient and obliging Oriental waiter. And this was also where Molly and Magnus began throwing straw papers at one another while Magnus doodled swirlies and cartoons. Joseph and OLeif never ceased to discuss theology. And the others discussed things in general, including tattoos, “ingenious” films, and motorcycles, over sandwiches and milkshakes. Louis was most excited to announce that he had been accepted into the 42nd Highlanders of some sort – bagpipes. Carrie turned quite red upon Louis mentioning to the entire table that Carrie owned her own set of miniature bagpipes.

But the evening had not ended until most had split off for the night and Joseph, OLeif, Collette, Joe, Magnus, and Rose found themselves once again at the Saint Charles Coffee House. It was good to see Joseph and OLeif so eye-to-eye with each others’ opinions, their beliefs and Reformed views of the world.
