Vinegar & Swedes

Wednesday, August 8, 2007

OLeif had made the mistake of tainting the laundry the day before. He had learned somewhere that if a load of clothes was left too long in the wash and became musty, if vinegar was added and the clothes were washed again, the musty smell would disappear. Unfortunately, OLeif added the vinegar before he put the clothes in the dryer. As a result, Puck smelled like vinegar the whole day.

Over at the house, Carrie had news of her concert the night before.

They’re Swedish. And the one guy, who really can’t speak much English said: ‘We love Ze Loop so much, dat we are going to move here’. And: ‘We love you so much dat we are going to sing dis next song… A+’. We were just dying of laughter.”

Puck was on a mission to collect more fuzz in his piggies that day.

That’s gross, Puck.” Collette told him. “Get rid of those nasties.”

I’m hiding them,” Mom spoke for Puck in his baby voice. “They’re in my filing cabinet system.”

Puck spread his toes to exhibit his collection.

OLeif returned from work that evening, proclaiming love and admiration for his operating system:

I was telling Simon today: ‘I love Ubuntu. I love Ubuntu so much, I want to give Collette an Ubuntu costume to wear, so that I can hug it.’”

Simon, apparently, fell over his laptop, laughing.

Nerds.

The day was bitter hot. Afternoon temperatures finally spilled over 99.
