What Does Sunday Hold?

Sunday, December 10, 2006

In Sunday School that morning, one kid defined a handmaid as being a servant who wrestles. And during the service the sun came out and melted the black ice which had formerly caused Collette to take a tumble earlier in the morning.

Then OLeif scooted off to the guys’ discipleship group, beginning at Pizza Street, with Joe, Ben-Hur, and Bob B.

Back at the house, Frances and Linnea were recovering from bad colds and spent the afternoon watching Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest after Mom and Dad returned from a small group leaders’ lunch and took a nap. Shortly later, Carrie-Bri returned and changed into a tunic top and comfy pink beaver pajama pants to relax for the evening.

Collette was also able to see Joe’s new red road bike, light enough to lift with one finger, at least in Joe’s case.

And OLeif and Joe returned not much before it was off to youth once more, which included Jimmy, Judah, OLeif and Collette, Joe and Rose, Ben-Hur, Olive Circles, Susie and Sunrise, and Molly. After Bible study they reconvened at Steak ‘n Shake down the road. Molly ordered onion rings and somewhat gave up on eating them.

Yuck! I hate onions,” she finally tossed the last limp debreaded ring onto her plate, and shared some cheese fries with Rose.

From that point, Joe, Rose, and Molly took off for Journey to Bethlehem. Carrie and Lucia also took Frances and Linnea there after small groups, both of whom had suddenly seemed to recover from their colds. And yet it was a mild night.

Sometimes Sundays were the busiest days, but they were good days. And Monday was fast on the way.
