Wish List
Collette and Puck were back over to the house for various projects and tutoring of the day.
The most exciting news of the day was watching Carrie blend a batch of dough for Italian bread bowls with the old mixer.
Well, the old mixer just didn’t seem to have enough life left in it, and with a sizzling pop, it died.
“Whoa, it’s smoking,” said Carrie. “Now how am I supposed to finish this?”
Later that evening, Collette returned for a movie night around the time that Francis, Creole, and Puff ‘o Lump took off on a ride down the Katy Trail.
There was pound cake while Carrie knitted a cozy for her tea thermos.
Meanwhile, Linnea had been invited to a birthday party that Sunday afternoon.
“Here’s her wish list,” she said. “I don’t even know what this stuff is:

“Rats?” Rose exclaimed. “Just go get her a real one from the garbage dump.”
“She put you on that list, Linnea,” Carrie said, laughing.
“How old is that kid?” Rose asked.
“Six.”
“Six years old?! Just get her a set of blocks.”
