Puck has cleared out the all-fruit lime popsicles in the night... guess the “they're only 80 calories each” really went to the heart... and the stomach...

While I step outside to text back-and-forth with the dentist about rescheduling an appointment for one of the kids...

...Yali's curdling scream floats through the glass kitchen door to the driveway... step back inside where he's narrating the slicing of a watermelon as it pops open to juicy red innards... the face he Sharpied on it last night requires some modification... runs to the living room for the Sharpie and returns to draw X's over the eyes...

After the melon has been fully drawn and quartered... Patience grabs a slice and doodles it with mustard... an unexpected snack that – inexplicably – gains her increasing favor throughout the day...

Patience and I are volunteering at the old school by ten-thirty... batches of math homework sorted and noted and stapled... while Patience and the Spanish teacher consult on current issues amongst the new preschoolers... Patience gives me the full break-down later on our afternoon walk... detailing how she almost had to put one of the boys in a “second time out!” before carpool...

Back home to short-order-cook a spread of lunch plates for the hungry tribe...

...before bussing Puck to work as we argue some light apologetics...

...then Patience to the studio for an hour... windows fully lowered to an easy breeze...

Oxbear has already prepared the steak and potatoes back home... mixing bread dough...

Puck back to lift weights before his hot plate... eagerly waiting for those steaming bread loaves later in the night...

...as Yali runs inside from watering Oxbear's new basil plant tucked next to the dog's dirt hole under the man-eating honeysuckle... "Mom! He was so thirsty he just drank the whole water!"
