On the cold, sunny drive to the studio, Oxbear calls, looking for the dog’s collar… sometimes it just disappears… she has an appointment with the vet and they’re supposed to be there in five minutes… Patience remembers the collar’s location (group effort)… much, no doubt, to Egg’s disappointment

While Oxbear and Yali take her on a walk after the vet, Oxbear announces the $458 bill – of course – (ear infection and some kind of growth we have to watch now)… because life is just like that…

Mild afternoon…

Oxbear getting an oil change in the Toyota (also discovers his headlight is out)

Puck back from J’s, “begging” Chick-fil-A

Yali freshly showered, slicking his long black hair back with my hairbrush, leather bomber jacket, looking cool as always

Patience stirring mud in the front yard under the Sweetgum tree, chatting aloud with herself about her dream bedroom

Tree goes up in the evening with Bing Crosby in black and white… the kids hardly watch it… they’re too busy fighting about how to arrange the ornaments

Kids in bed for the night… research “what good are Sweetgum trees for anyway?” (I often wonder when raking up those annoying little “bombs” in the front yard)… apparently the Cherokee used the resin as an infusion in tea to calm nerves… I could probably make use of that tree after all…
