Adios and Hola

We picked up where we left off and spent the afternoon and evening of our last 2014 day at the Silverspoon’s.

Cold.

Puck and Elvis found themselves confined mostly inside with toys for the day. They managed to entertain each other enough before and after Elvis’ nap to be considered a success.

There were all kinds of goodies strewn around the countertops, waiting for little fingers to find. Cookies, peppermint bark, chocolates. Puck also begged for sparkling cider before the afternoon had ended. After the first sip, he made a face.

“When I swallowed, the sparkles went up my nose,” he explained.

There were games for some of the kids, Kitts baked pies, Elvis “typed” on my laptop, and everyone had their own plans for the evening, some less animated than others.

Back home, Puck was sleepy and ready for a warm bed by the usual 7:30. Out like a light. El Oso and I spent an exciting few hours partying it up with Hulu.

Once again, we crashed before midnight. Naturally, the fireworks woke us up briefly at the stroke of twelve. Except for Puck. Torrential downpours, rattling winds, tornado sirens – whatever – sleeps like a rock. And that’s how 2014 went out.
