Big Brother Duties

Day four of my head cold. Puck was off school and taking charge.

“Mom, you go back to your room and rest. Go on. You need to rest. Yali and I are going to go clean up the living room.”

He was so sweet about it, I couldn’t say no. Sure enough, when he called me out later to inspect, the room had been cleared of all debris. I’m not sure where, exactly. But it was definitely clean.

Then Puck decided to get back to the Legos. Occasionally I heard snatches of conversation.

“Dang it!”

“Dang it!”

“Yali! Don’t say that! You’re too young to know what that means! Mom, we’re going downstairs now. Hey, Yail, let’s go find some ghosts.”

“Ghosts!”
