1. Because it’s already an unseasonably cold, gray spring afternoon, drive to Wendy’s to pick up even colder chocolate frosties for all the kids
2. Yali tears up the house looking for green things to make him look like “HULK SMASH!”
3. Slice finger on sharp scissors helping Yali cut out his costume; Yali hunts for a band-aid to take care of his mama

Yali, importantly and excitedly coordinating the creation of his “Hulk Smash” costume, handed me the scissors to cut eye holes out of his mask…

“I don’t know how you make holes, but, try your best… You need a Sharpie?… No, oh, Patience! NO!” He dramatically crinkled up the paper she had been sketching as a piece of his wardrobe and tossed it over his shoulder. “No! Hulk is not PURPLE! He’s GREEN! Get another sheet! We’re doing this! And cut out it. Okay?… Finish!”
