Day 3 : Jupiter

At about eight o’clock that evening, Eastern Standard Time, Oxbear texted me.

“I didn’t realize it was St. Patrick’s Day.”

Goofball. So while he had taken the boys to the Lego store and somehow managed to completely miss the Irish green that was almost definitely everywhere, I saw plenty of the same color at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie for the Cards-Mets match-up. And got “double crispy”, despite the sunblock. Like a boiled lobster.

Amazingly, even with all those New York fans, it was a pretty mellow crowd. A pretty quiet crowd. Even when the Mets threw up a crooked number against Waino and his boys. You win some, you lose some.

We finished our evening, driving through West Palm Beach to a little ice cream parlor on a boulevard of white-lights wrapped palms. And a sunset over the water on the drive back.
