Locked Phone

Yali had my phone that afternoon in his two fat little brown hands. It was locked, so I was pretty sure it was safe.

“PERRY! Set a timer for 40 minutes!”

Perry?

“PERRY! Set a timer for 40 minutes!”

Instead of setting a timer, “Perry” decided that what Yali REALLY wanted to know was the definition of “cutie pie”, which she gave him.

The next thing I knew, Yali was ringing up Pumpernickles Delicatessen in Ladue.

“Yali! What are you doing?”

“Hello?” Yali said to the sandwich artist on the line. “Hello?”
