Meetings
Puck started off Friday morning with a guaranteed-to-work plan. I don’t know if he had already heard someone else suggest it, but the idea of pushing his bed side-by-side with Yali’s was a eureka he just couldn’t pass up.
“It will be like a KING-SIZED BED, MOM! And then he won’t be afraid when he wakes up in the night because I will be there! Come on, Mom Let’s get to work!”
I was hesitant. Partly due to time, partly due to the weight of the beds.
“Mom! I know! Say something rude to me, quick! I always get really strong when I’m angry!”
Seven hours later, the boys and I were back on the road home again. The plate had been full.
Record Podcast Episode 60 at the Big House.
Visit Oxbear, Joe, and all the co-workers to introduce Yali at Oxbear’s work. The reception was warm and extended as we traveled between several floors of smiling faces.
Walk down the road to introduce Yali to Aunt Petunia for the first time, take an ice water break from the heat, and meet her co-workers.
Drive back to the Big House for chicken nuggets kept warm in the oven.
Visit with a variety of members from the English family at Zachary’s Playground in the heat of the afternoon. This is where Yali also decided to throw himself into a somersault down the slide. Fortunately I happened to be there at the time,
Schnuck’s for a quick dinner pick-up for the boys. It seemed like the right tine to introduce the concept of a Lunchable to son number two. He was pretty happy about the idea of food in a box. The problem was, neither boy filled up on their boxes, and ended up splitting a container of Oxbear-made pulled pork back home. Sometimes I think they have an unspoken race between the two of them to see who can gain pounds, and inches, faster.
All the kids except Linnea-Irish (attending some etiquette class dinner) joined movie night. The goods were ready to go on the counter. Rose saw the Keebler fudge cookies waiting to be opened.
“Why, hello.”
The movie selection of the evening: Gymkata. Gymnastics martial arts filmed in Yugoslavia. We seem to be on a role with bad 80’s films. Films that inspire commentary such as:
“At least this movie has more of a plot than Twilight.”
