Peter's rain

Rain falling again...

Kids tucked indoors with salami sandwiches and “Malcolm in the Middle” for lunch...

As rain clears for awhile in the early afternoon... Patience throws on her new dolphin swimsuit and jumps on the trampoline while Yali walks back and forth from the kitchen sink with a dented slow cooker pan of water to dump on her again and again and again... some of the exciting games they play... the real exhilaration exhibits when Yali walks out with Oxbear's extra large cooking pot... “LOOK, PATIENCE!” // “OH YEAH!”...

Thunder rumbles in the beyond... enough to bring them back inside... within twenty minutes the tornado sirens are spinning up again... “We had not necessarily expected this today...” Scott Connell notes on KSDK... with a tornado already spotted in Chesterfield Valley... everyone to the basement except for the snake... Puck and I watch from the door for awhile until threat neutralized...

Patience and myself back to the studio into a rain so heavy the windshield wipers are almost overcome...

Back home again for dinner... rain slipping through sunset colors... dripping box of gold glass stuffed with a world of green gardens... and... barring the cat scat in the clean laundry and discovering a waterfall of rain slopping over the top of the basement wall behind the drywall... the day is mostly like a page taken from Peter Spier's “Rain”...
